Your Number 1 UAE Newspaper

For the past week or two, my computer has been unable to access the Khaleej Times website. It keeps loading but never actually completes this process. I'm beginning to suspect the poor thing can't stand the poorly-written, hilariously backward newspaper either. And they say machines don't have feelings, ha!

hmm, i thought one would be happy about something like this;
I certinaly can't say i'm impressed by the 9-13 ads on any page at any given time on that site.

PS: it loads here (in australia) but you aren't really missing much.

I had this problem in Media City last week.

The only workaround I could find was to load an old article (Google "Khaleejtimes traffic" or something) then use the links on that to navigate out of.

I actually suspect they might be blocking Media City. Probably because the rest of the media is so mean about them all the time ;)

I got so tired of the childish "Your favourite No. 1 newspaper" all over the front page that I switched to Gulf News anyway.

I couldn't load 7 days for a whole day last week from either their Home page URL or from any article links that I had saved. At the time, I wondered if it was because someone in authority had taken exception to their Osama Book Club reports.

It then started loading again the following day. Must have been a server issue.

It's Etisalat. There is questionable content in all the local rags, so it must be blocked for our protection.

Secretdubai thanks for the tip, works great. Looks like I will have to penetrate their site from the backdoor so to speak!
